Depression will take away your energy and make you look at life in a negative way. There are symptoms of depression such as losing weight, not being able to sleep, having no motivation, being overly tired or not want to have sex with your partner.

The energy that you will lack in depression is hard to understand and it is hard to shake off. Some people have learned to not let depression get them down and it is almost like they have a secret cure.

Depression can cause people to feel trapped and people will be put on medication and then once they feel better, they stop taking it. Others will try therapy or counseling and others yet will find things to try to make them feel better on their own.

It is believed that more than 80% of people will relapse that have had depression and they have to learn how to handle their negative thoughts and feelings.

Being Aware

You have to be aware of what you are feeling. Most people that do not go back into a depressive state have learned to be the master of their feelings and thoughts. They do not allow them to come and no matter what happens in their day, they turn their thoughts another direction.

The thought patterns that people have are automatic and sometimes they become noticeable while other times they seem to sneak in. If the thoughts are automatic negative thoughts or ANT’s, then you will find that they are sneaking in and you will be able to question these thoughts immediately. When you notice these feelings and thoughts coming on, you will have a better chance of fighting them.

The thoughts that come to you that are ANT thoughts are often blaming thoughts or jumping to conclusions. You can even find that these thoughts are repetitive. Once you realize the pattern, you can learn to challenge these thoughts and not let them go.

Take Away the Negativity

If you keep realize that you are having negative thoughts, you have to learn to regulate your life and change. You have to take control of your life and not let these thoughts become repetitive.

It is important that you are able to distance yourself from these thoughts so that they cannot take control of your life. Once you are in control you can turn your thoughts in the direction you want them to go.

When you see yourself thinking things like, “I am never good enough,” then you need to ask yourself why you feel that you are not good enough and allow yourself to slow down and close the door to these thoughts.

The negative thoughts will not be able to be accurate in your life when you doubt them. Ask yourself, “Am I good enough?” and be willing to allow yourself to think through your thoughts and what caused them to come. This can help you to get rid of your negative thinking.

Do not think that all of your negative thoughts will just go away but learn to be in control of them and to master your thoughts. Let your thoughts change and tell yourself positive things when you feel them coming on. Remind yourself that you are the master of your thinking.
